John Vergin
A native of the northwest, John Vergin came to Portland in the mid 1970s to attend Reed College. Since then he has become an active member of the Portland theater and classical music communities, making his living as a liturgical musician, composer, singer, director, and enthusiastic performer in Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.
He received a Drammy Award in 2002 for original music composed for Classical Greek Theater's production of The Bacchae. He is an adjunct staff member of the Reed College music department where he teaches and coaches singing.
