Beverly Stafford, baroque flutist, is particularly interested in the solo and ensemble music of French Baroque composers, and has played in numerous ensembles with Portland musicians. Among her favorite composers are Leclair, Blavet, Couperin, Boismortier and Rameau.
Beverly studied with Christopher Krueger at the Oberlin Baroque Performance Institute summer workshops, and in student years studied baroque through contemporary flute solo repertoire with Frank Langone in Fresno, California, John May at Lewis and Clark College, and Richard Trombley at the University of Oregon. She plays a baroque flute made by Rod Cameron.
Along with baroque music, Beverly is also a dance musician, and plays for Renegade Rose Morris, performing with them in local and regional dance events. She enjoys the variety of musical forms from traditional dance and composed works, and is delighted by the combination of vocal and instrumental sound and narrative elements in the musical works presented by the Wildwood Consort.
